Can I feed my cat with cat food, if until this day I used to give him natural food like meat and fish?

We used to mix the meat with porridge.. Vet told that everything will be fine. Aren’t the any cons? recommendations? btw cat is 7 y.o.

Yes, but you need to introduce the new food slowly, by adding a little bit to his normal diet and gradually changing it out to the new diet.
Just tossing down and new brand of food to a dog or cat can cause bowel upset and give them some nasty upset stomach and diarrhea.

If your cat has had 7 years of natural food I doubt very much if he’ll go for the cat food, I know my baby wouldn’t touch it!

I so agree with Jade. Since your cat is so used to the other way it might take a little time to get them used to the dry food but don’t worry it can be done and just go slowly

ya he’ll be fine but you mite want to go with a wet food at first & try to get a flavor that is or is close to the food you use to feed him. like salon or chicken flavor.

Try this brand called "Harmony" which is natural, small cans and is sold in big supermarket chains. The mix your feeding your cat is not nutritional enough for your cat. Stick with canned cat food that is already made for cats. I have a nine year old cat that I adopted from a shelter and a one year old cat that I adopted this year from same shelter and they both love that brand, wet and dry food. Also I only feed them the chicken and the turkey/chicken flavors, and don’t give them any fish, because fish or seafood flavored cat food causes bladder stones or urinary tract infection. You can also go to a pet store and buy Hills Science Diet brand cat food. They also have a choice between the regular and natural cat food. Beware of any cat food brands that have wheat gluten or soy protein as it can be tainted with melamine, read ingredients and make sure they don’t have wheat gluten or soy protein. I hope this has been helpful.

Yes. I still would reccomend feeding raw meat as part of the diet as it’s a good supplement for the little carnivores.

It’s also best you feed mostly canned food, as it has more meat, protein, and fats(yes fats are good for cats, cats don’t high cholesterol or heart disease, accept that they aren’t humans) then dry food and less carbs. it’s overall much better for cats.

in response to the myth surrounding dry about the oral health. neither canned or dry does much for teeth. for edible teeth cleaners, there’s raw chicken wings and thick pieces of boneless raw meat.

plus ,teeth cleanings, and liquid oral products like dental fresh for cats does work.
