I have 2 automatic feeders and 2 water fountains, plus a container of food that refills the dish as they eat it..

probably not the best idea. cats have a tendency to act up when left alone for a long period of time, especially if they are attached to you. also, just in case your automatic feeders malfunction…i wouldn’t risk it. try craigslist to find a pet sitter.

Sounds like you have the bases covered. I usually put out an additional litter box for my cats when I go away so they aren’t tempted to urinate inappropriately if their box gets too full

It seems like you have a good set up, assuming you have plenty of litter boxes, but I strongly recommend trying to find a reputable cat sitter to at least come and check on them once or twice.

Cat’s really don’t need the interaction that dogs do, but I would have someone go over there to clean out their litter box at least once a day. I’m not a big fan of kennels, but I know understand wanting to keep them at home. Good luck!

I’d ask someone to come in & check on them & scoop at least 3 times while you’re gone. Daily would be better, though.
Bonded & insured professional sitters in my area charge about $14 for a half hour visit. That would leave some time for cuddling, too.

YOU REALLY SHOULD HAVE SOME ONE CHECK ON THEM AND KEEP THERE BOX CLEAN I CAN SEE LEAVING THEM A LONE FOR A WEEK END BUT NOT FOR A HOLE WEEK THAT’S TO MUCH YOU CAN CALL A VET AND ASK HIM IM SURE HE WILL TELL YOU THE SAME . OK LATER

We leave our cats home alone a lot, But if it is a week vacation, we leave out 2 big bowls of food and 2 big bowls of water
(but we have 3 cats) Electrical food feeders and water givers may not be the best idea when nobody is at home. It could cause the cat to freak and not eat, so I don’t suggest the electrical. Also, sometimes the pound is good, but there is ALWAYS an animal there that hates others, or likes to..er.. Bounce on them..
So, just a warning to you.

They should be ok, but is there someone you could ask to drop in and check on them, just incase the automatic feeding things break?

Just pay attention to your neighbors and if one of them has cats go ahead and ask them to check in on your cats once or twice to make sure that they’re ok. Offer to pay them or to take care of their cats when they go on vacation.

Cat people don’t think of it as a favor to you, they think it’s a favor to your kitties and they are always cool with that.

Good Luck!

Please have your neighbors or someone check in on the cats at least every 2 days. Even better, if a friend can house sit. You never know if a cat might get into something. I ALWAYS have someone spend the night when we go out of town and that person feeds them & does the litter boxes. The cat sitter has my cell phone no. for emergencies. Better safe than sorry.

You should have some to look over your cat until you get back it s not a good idea to leave your cats home alone they need to be fed and water when you are gone or have someone to come to take care of the cats.

i dont think so because in an emergency you cats have no protection, like if there’s a burglary, or a fire. it would be smart to leave you’re cats in the protection of someone you trust, or to have someone check in on them a few times. also, if you’re cats are very attached to you they may meow in the night and disturb neighbors.

Not for a week with no one to come in and check on things at least once a day. We have left our cats with food/water for 2 days going to cat shows, but if its longer then 3 days away, you need to find someone to stop in. Do you have any relatives that could stay at your house for a week?
