suggestions for all natural / organic / holistic food for my dog and cats?

by admin on June 28, 2010

I heard that it’s much better for my dog and cats to be eating all natural foods, but I can’t remember the name of the brand that was recommended to me. I want to switch all my animals (two cats and a dog) over to natural food slowly – first by mixing the two (old and new), then by moving over to only the natural food. The only problem is that I don’t know the best kind of all natural cat and dog food to try. Any suggestions or info? Thanks a million for anything. I’m not sure where to start.

Look into "The Honest Kitchen" brand.

"Wellness" catfood by a company called Old Mother Hubbard. I buy it in Whole Foods. They make a formula for dogs as well. My cats really love it.

Well Look At The Ingredients… If You See The Word By Product Then DONT FEED IT TO YOUR ANIMALS!!! By Product Is Stuff Like Beaks Feet And Other Stuff… It Is Kind Of Like Polution… So Yea If You See By Product… It Isnt Any Good… It Is Just Used As A Filler… And Your Animals Will Only Eat More Because It Take Alot For Them TO Get The Nutrients They Need!!!

What you find in pet food is all of the stuff they wont put in hot dogs (and we wont talk about what is in hot dogs). If you truly want to feed your pet the best possible food you will need to cook it for them. There are recipies online where you can find what ingrediants you can use. I can not remember where I got mine from, however most veggies are good as well as most meats. You will need to do a little research because cats need more protine than dogs as to what the best plan of action would be. I find that in the long run it is actually cheeper than store bought and go by the basic rule that if I wont put it in my mouth I wouldent feed it to my dog. I take meat and veggies and some rice and cook them until they are very soft and make a mush out of them with a hand mixer. My pets love it and their coats are much prettier for it too.
